JDF private shot dead
A Jamaica Defence Force private attached to the Military Training Wing, Newcastle, St Andrew, was shot and killed by gunmen at a bus stop along Washington Boulevard, Kingston 20, yesterday morning.
Dead is 23-year-old Tursha Lambert Lee of Morgans Pass, Clarendon.
group of men
Reports are that about 6:55 a.m., Lee was at a bus stop when he was attacked by a group of men armed with guns. The men opened fire hitting him several times. He died on the spot. Investigators processed the scene and the body was removed to the morgue for a post-mortem.
The Duhaney Park CIB is investigating.
Minister of Security Senator Dwight Nelson has responded with anger to the soldier's death. He said his killing is a reflection of the lack of respect for human life among criminals. "The soldier was clearly going about his business when he was attacked, and there are indications that these criminals may not even know who he was," said Nelson in a release issued by the Ministry yesterday.
